   Abaca
Abacca is used in making braided bowls and bins. It is mainly used in the paper making industry. Because of its relatively long staple length, strength and cellulose content, it is particularly used in the manufacture of a range of specialized papers including tea and coffee bags, sausage filter papers, medical/ disposal papers and some high quality writing paper.
   Batoc
Batoc or Seagrass are plants found along coastal water. Seagrass is also a flowering plant with leaves that are long and narrow. The dried leaves are then used in making boxes,baskets and other handicraft items.
   Buri
Buri is the largest palm species with trunks attaining a diameter of 1 meter and a height of 20 meters. The trunk yields large quantities of food material in the form of starch. Wine, alcohol, vinegar, syrup and sugar can be produced from the sap. The kernel of young fruit is made into sweets, while the buds are used for salad or as a vegetable. it is also used for making hats, boxes and other novelty items.
   Cocomidrib
Cocomidrib is used primarily in the handicraft industry as a material for coarse brooms (tingting) and baskets. It can be dyed easily and formed into interesting products such as canisters and table top accessories (ceramic liners, bowls, etc.) in combination with other materials.

   Pandan
Pandan varies in size depending on the species, from less than 1 meter to 15 meters in height. The leaves of pandan is used for making coarse and fine baskets, bags, hats, mats picture frames and other fancy articles. The wood of pandan is also used in making baskets. Pandan-dagat is made into hats and mats, also for cushion and canisters.
   Rafia
Raffia is the fiber of the raffia palm that produces durable, clean strands and can easily be dyed. The leaves and stems are used in basket making. Rattan does not accept dye and its fibers are hard to work. Usually, it is soaked and woven while the fibers are still damp.
